The Future of Industry in Essen: Visit MicroStep at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025

Under the headline ‘Join the Future,’ the exhibition invites visitors to explore breakthrough technologies – with MicroStep debuting its new full 3D machine control system, CyberFab Control.

The world’s leading trade fair for welding, cutting, and surface technologies, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025, will open its doors in Essen, Germany, from September 15–19, 2025. This event traditionally attracts tens of thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from around the globe, showcasing technological innovations and solutions for industry.

Facts & Figures

The upcoming edition will feature more than 800 exhibitors from 44 countries, covering 100,000 m² of exhibition space, making it one of the most comprehensive events in its field. Despite taking place only two years after the previous show (instead of the usual four-year cycle), it is expected to attract tens of thousands of trade visitors from across the world.

The exhibition will be structured around three main technology areas: welding and joining, cutting and separating, and surface treatment technologies. In addition, dedicated zones such as the Future Hub, Young Innovators, Career Area, and the DVS Congress will round out the program.

Themes & Program

Visitors can look forward to live demonstrations, product premieres, and innovative solutions ranging from collaborative robots and AI applications to sustainable production processes and smart workplace safety technologies.

A major highlight will be the hundreds of expert presentations, panels, and discussions addressing today’s and tomorrow’s key challenges – including digitalization, sustainability, workforce shortages, and other issues shaping the future of the industry. MicroStep will also take an active role!

Robotic Cutting and New 35 kW Drilling Spindle

As a leader in CNC bevel cutting, MicroStep will present a cross-section of advanced solutions that respond to the evolving needs of the metalworking industry – with a strong focus on flexible 3D cutting and laser beveling.

At Booths 6F14 & 6D20 in Hall 6, visitors can experience several exciting highlights:

• DRM with robotic profile cutting – exhibition premiere of one of the largest machines within MicroStep’s standard product range. The DRM is an advanced CNC milling, drilling, beveling, and marking center. At the show, it will feature a robotic head for 3D cutting of beam profiles and plates, plus drilling and milling heads.
• World Premiere: *NEW* 35 kW drilling spindle for high-speed drilling and milling, equipped with a new tool changer.
• MSF Initio – exhibition debut of a new range of bevel laser machines with a moving cabin, cutting power up to 30 kW, and an excellent price-performance ratio.

In addition to these main exhibits, MicroStep will showcase multifunctional fiber laser cutting machines, solutions for pressure vessel and steel construction manufacturers, advanced 3D applications, and more.

We will also introduce our vision for digitalized and sustainable production. Central to this are CyberFab applications for efficient control of production systems, and CyberFab Manager, a platform that enables transparent management and monitoring of the entire manufacturing cycle – from cutting, bending, deburring, and welding to logistics between workstations. This ensures that the whole process is connected, traceable, and easy to oversee within the company network.
