MicroStep made a strong impression at LAMIERA 2025 with a full team presence — including CEO Eva Stejskalová — and casually previewed its upcoming high-performance 35 kW drilling head.
The 23rd edition of LAMIERA, Italy’s leading trade fair for sheet metal forming and cutting technologies, concluded successfully at Fiera Milano Rho from May 6 to 9, 2025. With more than 18,000 professional visitors and over 400 exhibitors, the event reaffirmed its role as a key meeting point for the global metalworking industry.
A Synergistic Environment for Industry Professionals
Covering 40,000 square meters across Halls 13 to 15, LAMIERA 2025 showcased the latest in laser and plasma cutting, bending, welding, robotics, and Industry 4.0 integration. The show featured dedicated zones such as Fabbricafutura (digital manufacturing), Saldatech (welding technologies), and the new Revamping & Retrofitting section. The LAMIALAMIERA program added further value with expert talks and discussions on future manufacturing trends.
An international atmosphere was fueled by delegations from Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and beyond, coordinated by ICE – the Italian Trade Agency. The fairgrounds also hosted two concurrent events — Made in Steel 2025 and TuttoFood 2025 — creating a dynamic platform for cross-sector collaboration and innovation.
MicroStep at LAMIERA 2025: Smart Cutting in Focus
MicroStep presented its comprehensive portfolio of technologies, with special attention on its advanced laser beveling capabilities. From precise 45° bevel cuts to complex geometries using the ABP® process, MicroStep has solidified its position as a leader in efficient and reliable laser bevel cutting. All laser bevel heads are fine-tuned using ACTG®, MicroStep’s industry-leading auto-calibration system.
Teasing the New 35 kW Drilling Head
In addition to laser, plasma, oxyfuel, and waterjet cutting, MicroStep also offers integrated marking, drilling, and milling solutions. At LAMIERA, the company offered a sneak peek at its upcoming 35 kW drilling head with milling capabilities, set for official launch in September 2025, just ahead of FABTECH Chicago. The new spindle enables high-performance drilling from Ø 5–25 mm with carbide bits, up to a maximum Ø 40 mm, featuring ultra-fast chip-to-chip times, a high-speed pressure foot, and advanced software for autonomous drilling operations.
Strong Presence, Strong Partnerships
Throughout the event, MicroStep welcomed a steady stream of visitors — from long-time partners to new prospects. Our team included also our CEO Eva Stejskalová who was present for all four exhibition days, bringing her invaluable experience and vision to the table.
The Italian market demonstrated strong interest in MicroStep’s modular, highly automated solutions. Alongside sheet metal, MicroStep machines are capable of handling pipes, plates, beams, domes, and non-standard geometries – all enhanced with options for automated material handling, part sorting, and centralized production management through MicroStep’s in-house developed CyberFab Manager CAPP.
With nearly 70% of exhibitors being Italian companies, competition was fierce, but MicroStep’s innovation stood out.
Looking Ahead
With its vibrant atmosphere, international participation, and forward-looking technologies, LAMIERA 2025 reaffirmed its importance on the global metalworking stage. The next edition is already set for May 11–14, 2027, once again in Milan.
A big thank you to everyone who visited the MicroStep booth — we’re already looking forward to LAMIERA 2027!
